Chapter 9. PATPONG NIGHT MARKET

After dinner, we headed to Patpong Night Market. The leisure walk was breezy and took us about 15mins to arrive.

As you are approaching the market, you'll spot vendors operating the stalls on the streets leading up to the market.

Main Entrance

The main entrance doesn't have a sign or post, but trust me when I say you'll know when you're there. You'll start seeing sleazy looking guys wearing caps and holding a piece of paper in their hands coming up to you and asking, "Ping Pong show?"

More on that later.... The market is located in Silom area and is open every night from 6:00pm till late. Here you can find imitation designer bags, wallets, sunglasses and clothes.

I knew someone who went in search for imitation designer bags once, but even the "AAA" quality was too fake. Besides that the prices for the fakes aren't cheap. With that price, you're much better off with a genuine but normal branded bag.

Now as most of us know, Patpong has a notorious and sleazy side to it. The decent market is located along Patpong 1. The dark side is located on Patpong 2.

Here you'll find tons of nightclubs to fill every man's fantasies. Back to the Ping Pong, I've heard that it's a show where the girls insert a "Ping Pong" into their vagina for your viewing pleasure.
"很便宜的 ", the guy will assure you while trying to lure you into their clubs.

Some are so desperate to even approach girls. I'm not a girl but I seriously doubt that girls would find the show entertaining. ;p

There are 2-3 nightclubs or more commonly known as Go Go Bars along Patpong 1 as well and I've stolen a few peeks into the clubs. There's usually a main stage and damn chio girls clad in bikinis gyrating to each other while dancing to the music in the semi-darkness.

For the record, I have never entered one before. It's not because I don't want to, I have the sexual urges and think with my other "head" like most males. But I'm still a virgin to Go Go Bars mainly because,

1. I was travelling with the GF.
2. I don't want to be duped. Ask anyone who's been inside and chances are they'll tell you stories of being charged 800Baht for beer that was supposed to be 100Baht.

The girls inside are really damn chio. But be warned, there's a saying in Bangkok that goes ....


"If the girl is too damn chio to be true, then she's a transvestite."
